SIRIUS soft starter — dimensions and mounting
The 3RW5213-1TC05 measures 275 mm high by 170 mm wide by 152 mm deep, secured by screw fixing to the mounting surface. Clearance requirements: 100 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 75 mm downward, 5 mm at the side, zero backward — the backward clearance being zero means the unit can sit flush against a panel backplane. Mounting position allows ±10° rotation and can be tilted forward or backward on a vertical surface. Shock resistance is 15 g for 11 ms, dropping to 12 g for 11 ms if potential contact lifting is a concern.
Trip class and motor protection profile
Trip class is configurable: CLASS 10A as default, with CLASS 10E and CLASS 20E selectable per IEC 60947-4-2. Minimum settable current is 5.5 A, with a minimum load of 15% relative to the smallest settable Ie. This means the soft starter can handle motors down to about 0.8 kW at 400 V, depending on the actual motor FLA.
Fieldbus and control integration
Built-in fieldbus support covers PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET standard — no separate communication module needed for these protocols. PROFIenergy is supported in connection with the PROFINET standard communication module, enabling energy management functions during idle phases. Soft torque and pump ramp down are standard features — the soft torque profile reduces mechanical shock on belt-driven loads, and pump ramp down extends the deceleration to prevent water hammer in pumping systems. No analog output or torque control is available on this variant. Auto-reset and remote reset (by cycling the 24 V control supply) are supported, allowing the soft starter to re-start automatically after a fault clears — useful for remote or unattended installations.
Lifecycle and compliance
Firmware updates are supported, and an error logbook is available only in conjunction with special accessories. No HMI high-feature variant or analog output is offered on this order code.
