What this soft starter brings to the panel
The Siemens 3RW5213-3AC15 is a SIRIUS soft starter rated 200-600 V, built to handle motor starting across a range of loads. Its trip class is configurable to CLASS 10A (default), 10E, or 20E per IEC 60947-4-2, which means you can match the thermal overload curve to your motor's starting profile — 10A for standard starts, 10E for extended acceleration, or 20E for high-inertia loads like conveyors or fans. Fieldbus connectivity is baked in: PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP are all supported, so the starter can drop into most automation architectures without a separate gateway. That saves panel space and wiring time. If your panel sits near a hot motor or in a non-conditioned space, factor that into the thermal design.
Mounts via screw fixing on a vertical surface, with +/-10° rotation allowed and can be tilted forward or backward. Clearance requirements: 100 mm upwards, 75 mm downwards, 10 mm forwards, 5 mm at the sides, 0 mm backwards. That's tight enough for most enclosures, but plan the cable entry and airflow path. Power terminals accept solid conductors: 2x (1.0 to 2.5 mm²) and 2x (2.5 to 10 mm²). That covers most motor feeder cables up to 10 mm² without needing a separate terminal block.
