The Siemens 3RW5213-3TC05 is a SIRIUS hybrid switching device — a soft starter for three-phase induction motors, rated for a supply voltage range of 200 to 600 V and a minimum settable current of 5.5 A. Trip class is selectable between Class 10A (default), 10E, or 20E per IEC 60947-4-2 — this determines the allowable overload duration during start. Class 10A suits standard start times under 10 seconds; Class 20E allows longer acceleration for high-inertia loads like conveyors or centrifuges.

Fieldbus and communication options

Built-in support for PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET — the unit integrates directly into common industrial networks without an external gateway. PROFIenergy is available when used with the PROFINET standard communication module, enabling energy-management data exchange during idle periods. Firmware updates are supported in the field, matching the commissioning engineer's need to align with plant-wide software revisions.
