Trip Class and Motor Protection — What CLASS 10A / 10E / 20E Means for Your Line
The 3RW5214-3TC15 carries Trip Class 10A (default), 10E, and 20E per IEC 60947-4-2. CLASS 10A limits the start time to 10 seconds at locked-rotor current — standard for most pump, fan, and conveyor starts where the motor reaches speed quickly. CLASS 20E extends that window to 20 seconds, useful for high-inertia loads like centrifuges or crushers that take longer to accelerate. Minimum settable motor current is 7.5 A, with a minimum load of 15% of that setting.
Mounting and Panel Integration — 275 x 170 x 152 mm, Screw Fixing
Dimensions are 275 mm height, 170 mm width, 152 mm depth. Fastening is screw fixing to a vertical mounting surface, with +/- 10° rotation or tilt possible. Clearance requirements: 100 mm upwards, 75 mm downwards, 10 mm forwards, 5 mm at the sides, 0 mm backwards. Plan for those gaps in your enclosure layout — especially the 100 mm above for cable entry and heat dissipation. Terminal capacity accepts 2x (1.0 to 2.5 mm²) and 2x (2.5 to 10 mm²) solid conductors.
Lifecycle and Sourcing — Active Production, Sourced to Order
Approvals include CE, UL, and CSA — accepted across European and North American installations. Shock resistance rated at 15 g / 11 ms, with potential contact lifting above 12 g / 11 ms.
