Panel fit and mounting dimensions
The 3RW5216-1AC04 measures 275 mm high by 170 mm wide by 152 mm deep, screw-fixed to the mounting plate. Clearance requirements: 100 mm upwards, 75 mm downwards, 10 mm forwards, 5 mm at the sides, and zero backwards — plan the gland plate and busbar routing around these gaps. Solid-wire terminals accept 2x 1.0–2.5 mm² and 2x 2.5–10 mm², covering both control and power wiring without lug adapters.
Motor starting profile and trip class
Also selectable CLASS 10E or 20E for higher-inertia loads like centrifuges or crushers. Rated voltage range 200–480 V covers common low-voltage networks worldwide; the unit includes a service factor of 1, so no continuous overload margin beyond the set current. Operating ambient -25 to +60 °C, with derating required above 40 °C — factor this into the panel thermal design if the enclosure runs hot.
Fieldbus and control integration
Built-in PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET with PROFIenergy support — no separate communication module needed for most networks. The PROFINET standard module enables energy profiling per PROFIenergy for coordinated load shedding during idle periods. Analog output configurable as 4–20 mA (default) or 0–10 V via the High Feature HMI, giving the PLC a real-time current or torque signal. Remote reset by cycling the 24 V DC control supply. Soft Torque and Pump Ramp Down reduce mechanical shock on conveyors and prevent water hammer in pump starts/stops — both parameterizable without external timers.
