Motor starting with controlled torque and fieldbus integration
The 3RW5216-1AC15 is a SIRIUS 3RW52 soft starter rated for a minimum motor current of 14 A and a rated voltage range of 200 to 600 V AC (50/60 Hz). It delivers soft torque ramp-up and pump ramp-down to reduce mechanical stress on conveyors, pumps, and compressors — no torque control loop, but the ramp profile limits inrush to a fraction of DOL. Trip class is default CLASS 10A per IEC 60947-4-2, with selectable 10E and 20E for longer acceleration profiles. The unit supports remote reset by cycling the control supply voltage, and an auto-reset function is available. Fieldbus integration is native: PROFIBUS DP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET standard are all listed. PROFIenergy is supported when paired with the PROFINET communication module. An analog output (4-20 mA or 0-10 V) is parameterizable via the High Feature HMI accessory.
Panel mounting and thermal derating
Dimensions are 170 mm wide, 275 mm high, 152 mm deep — plan for the 100 mm upward clearance and 75 mm downward clearance, plus 10 mm forward and 5 mm sideways. Backwards clearance is 0 mm, so it can sit flush against a backplate. Shock resistance is 15 g / 11 ms, with potential contact lifting above 12 g / 11 ms.
