Active production — SIRIUS hybrid soft starter for motor starting duty
The 3RW5224-1AC15: Rated 200-600 V, it covers the common low-voltage motor networks worldwide — 400 V three-phase in Europe, 480 V in North America, and 575 V in Canada — without needing a voltage variant.
Trip class and motor protection coordination
The trip class is set to CLASS 10A by default, with selectable CLASS 10E and CLASS 20E, all per IEC 60947-4-2. The minimum load is 15 % relative to the smallest settable Ie — important for applications where the motor is oversized or lightly loaded; below that threshold the soft starter may not detect the load correctly.
Fieldbus connectivity and control interfaces
This unit supports PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET standard — five fieldbus protocols on one hardware platform. PROFINET also carries PROFIenergy for energy management during idle phases. An analog output is provided, defaulting to 4-20 mA, parameterizable to 0-10 V when used with the High Feature HMI. Remote reset is possible by cycling the control supply voltage — useful for automated restart after a fault.
Mounting and environmental limits for panel integration
The enclosure measures 203 mm deep, 185 mm wide, and 306 mm high — a substantial footprint that demands careful panel layout. Fixing is by screw fixing onto a mounting plate; DIN-rail snap-on is not listed, so plan for drilled and tapped backplate or threaded inserts. Mounting position allows ±10° rotation and can be tilted forward or backward on a vertical surface. Clearance requirements: 100 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 75 mm downwards, 5 mm at the side, and 0 mm backwards — the zero backwards clearance means it can sit flush against a panel wall or another device. Shock resistance is 15 g / 11 ms, dropping to 12 g / 11 ms if contact lifting is a concern.
