Active production, no obsolescence concern
The 3RW5224-3TC05: Rated 200-600 V, it covers the common global low-voltage motor systems (208 V, 400 V, 480 V, 575 V) without needing a voltage variant.
Trip class and motor protection coordination
Class 20E extends the time for higher-inertia loads like fans or crushers. Minimum operating current is 20 A — if the motor full-load amps fall below that, the soft starter cannot regulate the start current properly. Confirm the motor FLA is at or above 20 A before specifying.
Fieldbus integration and control options
Onboard fieldbus support includes PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET — covers nearly every plant-floor network. PROFIenergy is available when used with the PROFINET communication module. Auto-reset and remote reset (by cycling the 24 V control supply) are built in — useful for unattended restart sequences in pump or conveyor applications.
Mounting and thermal derating
Dimensions 306 x 185 x 203 mm (H x W x D), screw fixing, with clearances: 100 mm above, 10 mm in front, 75 mm below, 5 mm at the sides. The mounting position allows ±10° rotation on a vertical surface. Ambient temperature range -25 to +60 °C, but derate above 40 °C — factor this into the enclosure thermal design, especially if the soft starter is stacked or in a sealed cabinet.
Approvals and compliance documentation
Pollution degree 3 per IEC 60947-4-2 means it is rated for industrial environments with conductive dust or moisture — typical for motor control centers and panel shops.
