SIRIUS 3RW52 — what this soft starter does on the line
The 3RW5225-1TC15: Trip class is configurable as CLASS 10A (default), 10E, or 20E per IEC 60947-4-2 — the standard that governs motor-starter coordination. Minimum settable current is 25.5 A, with a minimum load threshold of 15 % relative to the smallest settable Ie — relevant when the motor FLA falls near the bottom of the adjustment range.
Fieldbus and control — what connects where
The 3RW5225-1TC15 ships with onboard PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET standard interfaces, plus Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP — five fieldbus protocols on one base unit without an add-on module. PROFIenergy is supported in conjunction with the PROFINET standard communication module. Remote reset is available by cycling the control supply off and on — no separate reset signal wire needed. Firmware updates are field-loadable. An error logbook function is present but requires special accessories (not included in the base unit).
Panel fit — dimensions, mounting, and clearances
Envelope is 306 mm high, 185 mm wide, 203 mm deep. Required clearances: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm in front, 5 mm at the sides, 0 mm behind. The mounting surface can be tilted ±10° forward or backward on a vertical plane.
Approvals and environmental limits
Carries CE marking, UL approval, and CSA approval — accepted across North American and European installations without additional agency review. Shock resistance is 15 g / 11 ms, dropping to 12 g / 11 ms if contact lifting is a concern.
Pump-specific features and soft torque
Soft Torque and Pump Ramp Down are both available — the ramp-down feature reduces pressure surge on pump shutdown by gradually reducing motor voltage rather than coasting to stop. Auto-reset is configurable. Analog output and torque control are not provided on this variant (HMI-High Feature is also absent).
