32 A minimum, 200-600 V — the rating that governs the motor
The Siemens 3RW5226-1TC05 is a SIRIUS soft starter rated for a minimum motor current of 32 A at a line voltage of 200 to 600 V. That 32 A floor is the smallest settable Ie — set the motor FLA below it and the unit won't regulate correctly, so match it to a motor whose full-load amps sit at or above that value. The Trip Class defaults to CLASS 10A per IEC 60947-4-2, with selectable 10E and 20E for heavier starts like crushers or centrifuges. Control power is 24 V DC, and the unit supports remote reset by cycling the control supply off then on. An auto-RESET function is built in for unattended restart after a fault clears — useful on conveyor lines where a manual reset would cost production time.
Mounting and clearances — screw-fixed, not DIN-rail
This soft starter uses screw fixing, not a DIN-rail clip. The body measures 306 mm high by 185 mm wide by 203 mm deep. Clearance requirements: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm forward, 0 mm backward, and 5 mm at each side. The 0 mm rear clearance means it can sit flush against a back panel, but the 100 mm top gap must be free for cable entry and heat plume — don't cram it into a shallow enclosure.
Communication options — five protocols on one unit
The 3RW5226-1TC05 carries PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET standard — all on-board. PROFIenergy is supported in conjunction with a PROFINET communication module. No analog output, no torque control, and no HMI-High Feature; this is a pure motor-starting controller, not a drive.
