SIRIUS 3RW5226-1TC15 — 32 A soft starter with multi-protocol fieldbus
The Siemens 3RW5226-1TC15 is a SIRIUS hybrid switching device — a soft starter rated for motor starting duty with a minimum settable current of 32 A and a rated voltage range of 200 to 600 V. Trip class is configurable as CLASS 10A (default), 10E, or 20E per IEC 60947-4-2, which governs the allowable motor starting time before the overload protection trips — CLASS 10A suits normal-start loads like pumps and fans, while CLASS 20E handles higher-inertia loads such as centrifuges. On-board fieldbus includes PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET standard with PROFIenergy support, so the starter integrates directly into a PLC-based control architecture without an external gateway.
Mounting, clearance, and thermal derating
Fastened by screw fixing to a vertical mounting surface, the unit can be rotated ±90° or tilted ±22.5° front-to-back, giving panel builders flexibility in orientation within the enclosure. Required clearances: 100 mm upwards, 75 mm downwards, 10 mm forwards, 5 mm at the sides, and 0 mm backwards — these ensure adequate airflow for the internal heatsink and prevent thermal stacking between adjacent devices.
