Sizing and trip class for motor starting
The 3RW5235-2AC15: Trip class is selectable as CLASS 10A (default), 10E, or 20E per IEC 60947-4-2, which governs the allowable motor start time before the overload protection trips — CLASS 10A suits standard starts under 10 seconds, while 20E accommodates higher-inertia loads like centrifuges or crushers.
Fieldbus and control integration
Onboard communications include PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET, with PROFIenergy support for coordinated energy management during idle phases. The analog output is configurable as 4-20 mA (default) or 0-10 V via the High Feature HMI, and a firmware update function is available for field upgrades. Remote reset is possible by cycling the control supply voltage, and auto-reset is supported for unattended restart after a fault clears.
Mounting and environmental limits
The unit is screw-fixed and measures 306 mm high by 185 mm wide by 203 mm deep, with a vertical mounting surface that allows ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt front-to-back. Clearance requirements: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm forward, 5 mm at the sides, and 0 mm backward — plan the enclosure layout accordingly to avoid derating.
Carries CE, UL, and CSA approvals, covering the primary regulatory jurisdictions for industrial control panels in North America and Europe.
