Trip class and motor protection profile
The 3RW5236-2AC15: Trip Class is selectable between CLASS 10A (default), 10E, and 20E per IEC 60947-4-2. CLASS 10A clears an overload in 10 seconds at 7.2× FLC — appropriate for standard squirrel-cage motors starting under load. The minimum settable current is 81 A, which sets the lower bound for motor full-load current matching. The rated voltage range is 200-600 V, covering 208 V, 240 V, 400 V, 480 V, and 600 V nominal supplies common in North American and European installations.
Fieldbus and control integration
Built-in support for PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET (with PROFIenergy) means the starter connects directly to most PLC architectures without an external gateway. The analog output is configurable as 4-20 mA (default) or 0-10 V for current or voltage feedback to the control system. Remote reset is available by cycling the control supply voltage. Auto-reset is also supported, which can restart the motor after a fault clears — useful for unattended pump stations but must be evaluated against safety circuit requirements.
Mounting and ambient derating
Mounting is screw-fixing with a vertical surface orientation; the unit can be rotated ±90° or tilted ±22.5° front-to-back. Clearance requirements: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm forward, 5 mm sideways, 0 mm backward — plan the enclosure depth and gland plate accordingly. The 15 g / 11 ms shock rating (12 g / 11 ms with potential contact lifting) means it withstands typical industrial vibration without relay chatter.
Approvals and compliance documentation
Carries UL approval, CSA approval, and CE marking — accepted for panel builds in North America and the European Economic Area. The product category is hybrid switching devices under the SIRIUS brand.
