SIRIUS 3RW5243-2TC14 — soft starter for motor starting duty
The Siemens 3RW5243-2TC14 is a SIRIUS-brand hybrid switching device — a soft starter rated for a minimum operating current of 90 A and a supply voltage range of 200 to 480 V (50/60 Hz). It offers programmable trip classes CLASS 10A (default), 10E, and 20E per IEC 60947-4-2, giving you the flexibility to match the thermal overload protection to the starting profile of your motor — pump, fan, or conveyor. On the fieldbus side, this unit supports PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET standard, plus PROFIenergy for coordinated energy management in automated lines.
Panel fit and thermal derating
The enclosure measures 393 mm high by 210 mm wide by 203 mm deep and is mounted via screw fixing to a vertical surface. The mounting position allows ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt front-to-back, which helps when you are squeezing it into a crowded panel. Minimum clearance around the unit: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm forward, 5 mm to the sides, and 0 mm backward — the back can sit flush against the panel wall. Plan your gland plate layout accordingly. If the panel ambient runs warm, you need to account for that in the current setting.
