90 A minimum, 200-480 V — what this soft starter covers
The 3RW5243-6AC04: That minimum-current floor is the smallest settable Ie — below 15% of that value the starter won't regulate, so match it to a motor FLA at or above 90 A. Trip class is configurable: default CLASS 10A, or select CLASS 10E or CLASS 20E per IEC 60947-4-2. For a pump or conveyor starting a high-inertia load, CLASS 20E buys you longer acceleration time without nuisance tripping.
Fieldbus fit — PROFINET, Modbus, EtherNet/IP onboard
This soft starter ships with PROFINET standard, PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP, plus PROFIenergy support when used with the PROFINET communication module. No separate gateway needed for most PLC ecosystems — just set the IP and map the I/O. The analog output defaults to 4-20 mA, parameterizable to 0-10 V via the High Feature HMI (not included — this unit has no HMI-High Feature onboard). Firmware updates are supported through the fieldbus interface.
Mounting and cooling — screw fixing with derating above 40°C
Clearance requirements: 100 mm upwards, 75 mm downwards, 10 mm forwards, 0 mm backwards, 5 mm at the sides. The 203 mm depth, 210 mm width, and 393 mm height fit standard 600 mm deep enclosures with room for gland plates. Pollution degree 3 per IEC 60947-4-2 suits industrial environments with conductive dust or condensation.
Approvals include CE, UL, and CSA — covering EU and North American installations. The hybrid switching device category means it uses both electromechanical and semiconductor switching for reduced contact wear on start/stop.
