The Siemens 3RW5243-6TC14 is a SIRIUS soft starter with a minimum settable motor current of 90 A (relative to the smallest settable Ie) and a rated supply voltage of 200 to 480 VAC. Its trip class is configurable: default CLASS 10A, with selectable CLASS 10E or CLASS 20E per IEC 60947-4-2. For heavier loads like crushers or centrifuges, switching to CLASS 20E gives double the trip time, allowing longer acceleration without nuisance tripping. The 90 A minimum current floor means this unit is sized for motor FLCs at or above that level; it will not calibrate down to a smaller motor.
Communication and control
This soft starter supports PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP natively, plus PROFINET standard and PROFIenergy when paired with the optional PROFINET communication module. That makes it a drop-in for most industrial networks without a separate gateway. Remote reset is available by cycling the control supply voltage. Auto-reset is also supported. The unit includes an error logbook, but only with special accessories. There is no analog output and no torque control.
Mounting is by screw fixing on a vertical surface; the unit can be rotated ±90° or tilted ±22.5° front-to-back. Clearance requirements: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm forward, 5 mm at the sides, and 0 mm backward. Shock resistance is 15 g / 11 ms (12 g / 11 ms with potential contact lifting). Dimensions: 393 mm high, 210 mm wide, 203 mm deep.
