SIRIUS soft starter — 100 A minimum, 200-600 V rated
The Siemens 3RW5244-2TC05 is a SIRIUS-brand hybrid switching device — a soft starter for three-phase induction motors, rated for a minimum load of 100 A at 200 to 600 V. It ships with a default trip class of CLASS 10A per IEC 60947-4-2, with selectable 10E and 20E profiles — meaning it can be tuned to match the motor's thermal curve during start-up, protecting both the winding and the downstream contactor.
Communication and control integration
This soft starter supports PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET — five fieldbus options on one unit, so it drops into most plant networks without a gateway. It includes soft torque and pump ramp down profiles — useful for reducing mechanical shock on conveyors or preventing water hammer in pump start/stop cycles. Firmware updates are supported, and an error logbook is available with special accessories — a diagnostic tool for tracing fault sequences on the line.
Mounting and approvals — panel fit
The unit measures 203 mm deep, 210 mm wide, and 393 mm high, with screw fixing to the mounting surface. It can be mounted with a vertical surface, rotatable ±90°, and tiltable ±22.5° front and back — flexibility for tight cabinet layouts. Clearance requirements: 100 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 0 mm backwards, 75 mm downwards, and 5 mm at the side — these are the minimum air gaps for heat dissipation and service access.
