Trip Class and motor protection — what the 10A/10E/20E rating means
The 3RW5244-2TC14 offers selectable Trip Class 10A (default), 10E, or 20E per IEC 60947-4-2. The trip class sets the trade-off between nuisance tripping on normal starts and protecting the motor winding from a locked-rotor event.
Fieldbus connectivity for integrated control
This soft starter carries onboard PROFIBUS, PROFINET (standard), Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP — covering the main industrial Ethernet and fieldbus protocols without an external gateway. PROFIenergy is supported in conjunction with the PROFINET communication module, allowing the starter to participate in coordinated energy management during production pauses.
Mounting and panel integration
Screw fixing to a vertical mounting surface, with ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt to front/back permitted. The enclosure dimensions are 393 mm height, 210 mm width, 203 mm depth — allow 100 mm clearance above, 75 mm below, 10 mm forward, 5 mm at the sides, and 0 mm backward for airflow and cable bending radius.
Soft Torque and Pump Ramp Down for load-specific starting
Soft Torque and Pump Ramp Down are built-in features. Soft Torque reduces the initial current spike on lightly loaded starts by ramping the torque more gradually than a standard voltage ramp. Pump Ramp Down extends the deceleration ramp on pump motors to prevent water hammer from a sudden stop — this avoids pressure surges in the piping that can damage seals and valves.
