The 3RW5245-2TC05 is a SIRIUS soft starter rated for a minimum operating current of 135 A at a supply voltage of 200 to 600 V AC. That 135 A floor is the smallest settable Ie — the part cannot be dialed down below that, so it fits motor loads sized from 135 A upward. Trip Class is selectable: default CLASS 10A, with 10E and 20E options per IEC 60947-4-2. CLASS 10A trips within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current, matching standard induction-motor starts; 20E gives a longer ramp window for high-inertia loads like centrifuges or fans. Fieldbus options are extensive: PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET with PROFIenergy support. That means the starter integrates into nearly any control network without a separate gateway — a single part covers both the power switching and the communication layer. Mounting is screw-fixing on a vertical surface, rotatable ±90° and tiltable ±22.5° front-to-back. Clearances required: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm forward, 5 mm at the sides, 0 mm backward. That 100 mm upward gap is the main constraint in a shallow cabinet — plan the gland plate or busbar clearance accordingly.
Integration notes
The starter supports soft torque and pump ramp down — both useful for reducing mechanical stress on the load and avoiding pressure surges in pumping applications. Remote reset is handled by cycling the 24 V control supply off and on, which simplifies remote restart without a dedicated reset signal. Shock resistance is rated at 15 g for 11 ms, with potential contact lifting above 12 g. That is robust for most industrial environments but worth noting if the starter is mounted on a vibrating machine base — derating the shock spec may be needed. An error logbook is available only with special accessories — not built-in. If detailed fault logging is required, factor in the accessory cost and mounting space at the design stage.
