The Siemens 3RW5245-2TC14 is a SIRIUS-brand hybrid soft starter rated for a minimum operating current of 135 A across a supply range of 200 to 480 VAC. Its default Trip Class 10A per IEC 60947-4-2 means it will disconnect a locked-rotor motor within 10 seconds at 7.2x rated current — fast enough to protect standard squirrel-cage induction motors on pump, fan, or conveyor drives without nuisance tripping on normal start-up. The unit supports Soft Torque and Pump Ramp Down profiles, which reduce mechanical shock on the load train during start and stop — useful on centrifugal pumps where water hammer is a concern.
Fieldbus and communication options
This soft starter ships with onboard PROFIBUS DP and Modbus RTU, plus optional support for Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET (the latter with PROFIenergy profile when paired with the standard communication module). That means it can drop into most existing control architectures without a separate gateway — a real time-saver when the line uses mixed protocols and the integrator wants one part number for the panel.
Screw-fixing mount, 393 mm high by 210 mm wide by 203 mm deep. The mounting surface must be vertical; the unit can be rotated ±90° or tilted ±22.5° front-to-back.
