What the trip class means for your motor start
The 3RW5245-6TC15 ships with Trip Class 10A as default, but you can switch it to 10E or 20E per IEC 60947-4-2. That means on a standard 135 A minimum load, a Class 10A start clears in under 10 seconds at locked-rotor current — right for conveyors and pumps that don't need a long ramp. Bump it to 20E if you're starting a high-inertia fan or centrifuge that needs more time to spin up without tripping the overload curve.
Supply voltage and fieldbus — what talks to your PLC
Control supply lands at 110…250 V AC, 50 or 60 Hz — standard panel voltage in most plants, no transformer needed. On the comms side, this soft starter carries PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET with PROFIenergy support when paired with the optional PROFINET communication module. That covers about every major industrial network you'll find on a modern line; just pick the protocol your controller speaks and wire accordingly.
Mounting and clearances — fits in a standard enclosure
Screw-fixed mounting on a vertical surface, 210 mm wide by 393 mm tall by 203 mm deep. The enclosure needs 100 mm clearance above, 75 mm below, 10 mm in front, 5 mm at the sides, and zero at the back — that's a compact footprint for a 135 A device. You can rotate the unit ±90° on the vertical axis or tilt it ±22.5° front-to-back if your panel layout demands it.
