SIRIUS soft starter for motor starting duty
The Siemens 3RW5247-2TC14 is a SIRIUS-brand hybrid switching device — a soft starter rated for a minimum operating current of 200 A and a rated voltage range of 200 to 480 V. It is designed to ramp motors up and down smoothly, reducing mechanical stress and inrush current on conveyors, pumps, and compressors. Trip class is configurable: default CLASS 10A, with options for 10E and 20E per IEC 60947-4-2.
Fieldbus and control integration
Onboard communication includes PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET standard — plus PROFIenergy support when paired with the PROFINET communication module. This covers most plant-floor networks without an external gateway. Remote reset is available by cycling the control supply voltage. Auto-reset is also supported, which can restart the motor after a fault clears — useful for unattended pumping stations.
Mounting and environmental limits
Clearance requirements: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm forward, 5 mm at the sides, 0 mm backward — plan the enclosure depth accordingly. Shock resistance is 15 g / 11 ms, dropping to 12 g / 11 ms if contact lifting is a concern.

Approvals include CE, UL, and CSA — accepted in North American and European panels without additional certification work.
