The 3RW5524-3HA14: It carries ATEX and IECEx certification alongside UL and CSA approval, meaning it can be installed in hazardous-area motor starter panels and exported to North American or European jurisdictions without a separate approval cycle. The unit integrates with PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP — the fieldbus slice is already on board, so no separate communication module is needed for these protocols.
Trip class and motor control features
Trip class is selectable among CLASS 10A, 10E (default), 20E, and 30E per IEC 60947-4-2. For a conveyor or pump with a high-inertia load, choosing 20E or 30E gives the motor more time to accelerate without nuisance tripping; for a low-inertia fan, 10A keeps the start short. Control features include voltage ramp, torque control, breakaway pulse, pump ramp down, and DC braking — so it handles soft starting, stopping, and jogging without an external contactor for the brake circuit. The analog output is configurable as 4-20 mA or 0-10 V, and the unit logs events and errors in an internal logbook — useful for commissioning and fault tracing without an external data logger.
Panel dimensions and clearance
The housing measures 306 mm high, 185 mm wide, and 203 mm deep. Required clearances: 100 mm above, 75 mm below, 10 mm in front, 5 mm at the sides, and 0 mm behind — so it can be mounted flush to the back panel.
