Soft starter for ATEX and IECEx zones

The Siemens 3RW5544-6HA14 is a SIRIUS soft starter rated for 200-480 V with trip class options CLASS 10A / 10E (default) / 20E / 30E per IEC 60947-4-2. Both ATEX and IECEx certified, it is suited for motor starting in potentially explosive atmospheres where controlled acceleration and deceleration are required. The unit supports DC braking, voltage ramp, pump ramp down, torque control, and a breakaway pulse — covering soft-start, soft-stop, and stall protection for induction motors in hazardous-area conveyors, pumps, and fans.

Fieldbus and parameterization

This soft starter integrates with PROFIBUS, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP, plus PROFIenergy in conjunction with PROFINET communication modules. The analog output defaults to 4-20 mA or 0-10 V. Four parameterizable sets, an event list, error logbook, and trace function are onboard. Firmware updates are supported. The screw-terminal connection block and the 210 x 393 x 203 mm footprint fit standard panel layouts with 100 mm upward clearance, 75 mm downward, 10 mm forward, 5 mm side, and 0 mm backward.
