What it is — Modbus RTU communication module for the 3RW55 soft starter
This is a SIRIUS communication module designed for the 3RW55 soft starter family. It adds Modbus RTU fieldbus connectivity to the soft starter, enabling parameter read/write, status monitoring, and control commands over a serial RS-485 network. It is not a standalone soft starter — it mounts onto the 3RW55 base unit and communicates via the internal SIRIUS bus. The module handles the protocol translation so the soft starter integrates into a Modbus RTU network without a separate gateway.
Wiring and environmental limits
AWG 24–12. Storage and transport range is -40 to +80 °C. Installation altitude up to 5000 m with derating above 1000 m — see the catalog for the derating curve. Environmental classification per IEC 60721: during operation 3K6 (no ice formation, occasional condensation), 3C3 (no salt mist), 3S2 (sand must not enter), 3M6. Storage 1K6, transport 2K2.
