10 A thermal, 400 V insulation — what the ratings actually cover
The 3SE5122-0CC02: Thermal current is 10 A and insulation voltage is rated 400 V on a 50... 60 Hz supply, with a snap-action contact element and a positive-opening switching function built into the basic switch. Repeat accuracy of 0.05 mm on the actuating point is what keeps a machine tool or a filling line from drifting cycle to cycle, and the positive-opening function (per the IEC 60947-5-1 positive-opening requirement on the basic switch) means the NC contact is mechanically forced open when the plunger is actuated — the contact cannot be held closed by contact welding.
Sealed metal body, IP66/IP67 — washdown and outdoor duty
The housing is a wide metal block with a cathodic dip coating, sealed to IP66/IP67, with three M20 x 1.5 cable entries on a screw-terminal interface. That enclosure spec puts the unit into food-and-beverage washdown, outdoor conveyor, and dust-heavy aggregate panels without an additional shroud — the O-ring face and the M20 glands carry the wet-side barrier. Operating range is -25... +85 °C and storage is -40... +90 °C, with a 30g / 11 ms shock rating per IEC 60068-2-27, so the switch survives line-side vibration on a press or a crusher without nuisance trips. Termination takes solid or stranded copper from 0.5... 1.5 mm² on a single conductor or 0.5... 0.75 mm² on a dual, and the same range in AWG (1x 20... 16, 2x 20... 18) — that's the panel-side acceptance a wireman needs before the gland plate is committed.
EN 50041 form B head, any mounting position
The actuator head conforms to EN 50041 design B with a rounded, high-grade steel plunger, and the housing allows any mounting position, which keeps the panel layout flexible when the guard hinge dictates the switch orientation. Pollution degree 3 on the basic switch is consistent with industrial floor environments — conductive dust is on the spec sheet, not a surprise at commissioning.
