The Siemens 3SF1324-1SB21-1BA1 is a SIRIUS safety position switch with a tumbler mechanism and integrated solenoid lock. It's designed for guard door monitoring on machinery where access must be physically blocked until the machine state is safe. The 1300 N locking force means the solenoid holds the guard closed against forced opening up to that force — relevant for heavy doors or where an operator might lean against the guard. The switch uses a separate actuator (3SE5000-0AV0, ordered separately) and accepts approach from five directions, which simplifies alignment on hinged or sliding doors.
The plastic enclosure is rated IP66/IP67, so it handles washdown environments and dusty areas without an additional cover. Mounting position is any orientation; screw fixing through the housing flanges. The switch head offers five directions of approach for the separate actuator, which gives flexibility on door geometry. Mechanical service life is typical 1,000,000 operating cycles — that's the tumbler and solenoid mechanism, not just the contacts. The positive-opening function (per EN ISO 14119) means the NC contacts are mechanically forced open when the actuator leaves the head, even if the contacts weld.
Environmental range covers -25 to +60 °C operation, storage from -40 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 30g at 11 ms, vibration 0.35 mm at 5g — tested per IEC 60068-2-6 and IEC 60068-2-27. The ID1 code is set to F (default) and can be configured 0 through F via the AS-Interface master or a programming device.
