Safety switch built for the pit
The Siemens SIRIUS 3SF1324-1SD21-1BA3 is a mechanical safety switch with a tumbler, built for guarding access on conveyors, crusher chutes, and mill in-feed gates where vibration and slurry are the norm. The spring-actuated lock holds at 1300 N (closed-circuit principle), so a power loss or cable cut keeps the guard locked — not released. The plastic enclosure carries IP66/IP67, which means it handles high-pressure washdown and temporary submersion, common in mineral-processing environments. Shock resistance is rated at 30g / 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27, and vibration resistance at 0.35 mm / 5g per IEC 60068-2-6 — it shrugs off the shake of a primary crusher without false trips.
ASIsafe integration and wiring
This switch integrates ASIsafe directly — no separate safety monitor needed for the AS-Interface network. The M12 plug, 4-pole, is fixed: Pin 1 = ASI+, Pin 3 = ASI-, pins 2 and 4 not assigned. The magnet coil runs on 24 V DC/AC. The ID1 code is set to F by default, configurable 0...F via the AS-Interface slave profile 7.B.F. The switching function uses positive opening (NC contacts), mandatory for safety circuits per EN ISO 14119. The separate actuator (3SE5000-0AV0, ordered separately) can approach from 5 directions, which simplifies alignment on a swinging gate or sliding door.
