Safety position switch with tumbler — ASIsafe integrated
The Siemens SIRIUS 3SF1324-1SD21-1BA4 is a safety position switch with a tumbler mechanism, designed for guard-door monitoring on machinery where a positive-opening, spring-locked actuator is required. It integrates ASIsafe on a fixed M12 plug, so the safety signals (actuator 2 NC, magnet 1 NC) run directly on the AS-Interface bus without a separate safety relay module — saves a DIN-rail slot and a wiring step. Locking force is rated at 1 300 N, which means the switch holds the guard closed against a substantial pull — think heavy hinged doors on a press or a robot cell where an operator leaning on the door shouldn't defeat the interlock. Repeat accuracy is 0.1 mm, so the switch position is consistent cycle after cycle, critical for maintaining the safety distance to the hazard. The enclosure is IP66/IP67 rated, plastic housing, screw fixing, and the actuator can be approached from any of 5 directions — gives flexibility in mounting orientation on the guard frame. The separate actuator (order 3SE5000-0AV0) is not included, so make sure that's on the BOM alongside this switch.
Deployment context
Mounts in any position (screw fixing) on the machine frame or guard door. The M12 plug (4-pole, pinout: 1 = ASI+, 3 = ASI-) carries both power and AS-Interface communication, so the switch is a single-cable device on the AS-i bus. The ID1 code is set to F by default, configurable 0...F via the AS-i master or a programming tool. Mechanical service life is typical 1 000 000 operating cycles — a fast mover for high-cycle applications. Shock resistance 30g / 11 ms, vibration 0.35 mm / 5g per IEC 60068-2-6 and -27. Pollution degree 3 (industrial environment with conductive or dry non-conductive pollution). Insulation rated at 30 V, surge withstand 0.8 kV — suitable for the 24 V AS-Interface bus.
