The Siemens SIRIUS 3SF1324-1SG21-1BA1 is a mechanical safety position switch with a tumbler mechanism and a separate actuator (3SE5000-0AV0, ordered separately). It integrates ASIsafe on a fixed M12 connector, carrying two safety channels: one NC for actuator monitoring and one NC for magnet monitoring, plus one NO per channel. The 1300 N locking force means the guard door stays positively latched under load — relevant for heavy or fast-moving access panels where a lower-force switch could be forced open. IP65/IP67 sealing lets it shrug off washdown spray on a bottling line or dust in a packaging area.
The 1300 N locking force exceeds the 1000 N minimum per EN ISO 14119, so it's rated for guarding applications where the interlock must resist forced opening. Positive opening per the switching function means the NC contacts are mechanically forced open when the actuator leaves the head — no spring reliance, which is the standard for safety circuits up to PL d / SIL 2. The ID1 code is set to F by default and can be configured across 0 through F, giving up to 16 addressable nodes on the AS-Interface bus. Repeat accuracy of 0.1 mm keeps the switch point consistent over a million operating cycles.
Deployment context
Mounts in any position via screw fixing onto machine frames or guard-door posts. The plastic enclosure with special design accepts actuation from five directions, which simplifies alignment on hinged or sliding guards. The M12 fixed connector with ASI+ on pin 1 and ASI- on pin 3 means a standard AS-Interface flat cable drop connects power and safety data in one run — no separate safety relay needed if the ASI master handles the safety monitor.
