Safety switch with tumbler locking and ASIsafe integration
The Siemens 3SF1324-1SG21-1BK4 is a SIRIUS safety position switch with a tumbler locking mechanism rated at 1 300 N locking force. It is designed for use in safety circuits where positive opening of the NC contacts is required per EN ISO 14119. The switch integrates an ASIsafe slave (profile 7.B.F) for direct connection to an AS-Interface safety network, reducing wiring and simplifying diagnostics on the line. The plastic housing carries IP65, IP67, and IP69 ratings, meaning it withstands high-pressure washdown and is suitable for food-and-beverage or other wet processing environments. The M12 fixed connector (4-pole, pinout per) carries the ASI+ and ASI- lines; no separate power cable is needed for the safety loop.
Repeat accuracy of 0.1 mm means the switch detects the actuator position within a tenth of a millimeter cycle after cycle — important for precise guard alignment on automated cells. The 1 000 000 mechanical operating cycles typical service life gives a baseline for preventive replacement intervals in high-cycle applications. The ID1 code is set to F by default, with selectable codes 0 through F, allowing up to 16 safety switches on the same AS-Interface segment without address conflicts. The magnet coil runs on 24 V AC/DC, supplied through the AS-Interface cable; no separate 24 V supply is needed at the switch.
