Communication-capable position switch with AS-i integration
The Siemens 3SF3100-1DV00-0BA2 is a communication-capable position switch for AS-Interface networks. It uses a mechanical active principle with a roller plunger actuator and positive opening switching function. The switch carries a single NC contact (no NO contacts) and is housed in a metal block enclosure conforming to EN 50041, with screw fixing and a painted finish. The electrical connection uses the AS-i insulation displacement method, so the switch is wired by simply pressing the cable into the slot — no screw terminals, no stripping. This speeds installation on AS-i drops where multiple sensors share a flat cable backbone.
Integration notes
The block housing per EN 50041 uses screw fixing and mounts to machine frames or DIN-rail adapter plates. The roller plunger actuator is adjustable in orientation. For AS-i networks, the switch connects via the insulation displacement method to the yellow AS-i flat cable. No separate power supply is needed beyond the AS-i bus; the switch draws its operating power from the network. The single NC contact is typically wired to the safety input of the AS-i safety monitor.
