What it is — and what the ratings mean for fit
The 3SF3200-6EV00-0BA1: This is a communication-capable position switch with a built-in AS-i adapter — the AS-i connection is via insulation displacement, so you terminate the flat cable directly into the switch body without an extra module or junction box. That saves a splice point inside a panel or on a machine frame. Rated IP65, so the switch handles washdown and dusty environments — typical for conveyor guard doors, packaging lines, or material-handling stations where water or debris is a factor. The molded-plastic housing (block style per EN 50047) keeps it lightweight and corrosion-resistant. The roller lever actuator is a mechanical (not proximity) design with positive opening — meaning the NC contacts are forced open by a cam inside the switch, even if the contacts weld. That's a safety-circuit requirement for guard interlocking per IEC 60947-5-1; you can wire this into a safety relay or safe PLC input without additional monitoring.
Contacts and wiring
Two normally-closed contacts, zero normally-open. That's a pure safety-channel switch — you'd use it on the NC chain of a dual-channel guard circuit, not for status feedback. If your application also needs a NO mirror signal, you'd add a separate auxiliary block or pick a variant with mixed contacts. Fastened by screw fixing, so it mounts to a standard machine frame or bracket with two M4 screws. The housing width is 31 mm — slim enough for tight rail sections. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +60 °C, which covers most indoor industrial environments and refrigerated areas down to freezer temps.
