The Siemens 3UG3014-1BR60 is a SIRIUS active power monitoring relay — it watches real power (kW) on a motor or load and trips an alarm or shutdown when the power strays outside a set window, upper or lower limit. Rated for 410-550 VAC at 50/60 Hz, it measures load current from 0.2 to 10 A via an external current transformer (not included). The relay output switches up to 3 A at 250/400 VAC, AC-15 rated for 100,000 operations at 230 V — enough for a contactor coil or PLC input.
Screw-type terminals accept 2 x 20-14 AWG solid or stranded. Torque to 1.2-0.8 N·m. IP20 protected; keep it inside the enclosure, not on the machine frame.
Setting the trip window and timing
Two adjustable delays: a start-up override (0.3-3 s) to ignore inrush, and a response delay on limit violation (0.5-20 s) to ride through short transients. Repeat accuracy is 1% of the set value; metering precision is 10% — adequate for overload or no-load detection, not for revenue-grade power logging.
Environmental and surge withstand
Vibration tested per IEC 60068-2-6: 15 mm at 1-6 Hz, 2g at 6-500 Hz. Shock: 15g / 11 ms half-sine. Surge voltage resistance rated at 6 kV — suitable for industrial environments with moderate transient exposure.
