The Siemens 3UG3082-1AW30 is a SIRIUS insulation monitor designed for ungrounded DC IT networks, measuring insulation resistance in the range of 10 to 110 kΩ. It operates from a control supply voltage of AC/DC 24–240 V (50/60 Hz) and also accepts a rated value of 110–400 V AC/DC, making it flexible for different panel voltages.
The 10–110 kΩ measurement range covers the typical insulation resistance window for ungrounded DC systems (IT networks) in industrial control panels, motor drives, and solar arrays. A reading below 10 kΩ indicates a serious ground fault; above 110 kΩ the insulation is healthy. The device stores the fault (fault storage = Yes) and has a configurable switching delay (delayed switching = 1), so it can ignore transient leakage spikes that would otherwise cause nuisance trips — useful on lines with capacitive coupling or intermittent loads. Supply flexibility is a strong point: the control supply accepts AC/DC 24–240 V at 50/60 Hz, while the monitored circuit can be at 110–400 V AC/DC. That means the same monitor can be wired into a 24 VDC control panel or a 230 VAC distribution board without a separate power supply module — a real time-saver during panel build.
Screw terminals require a tightening torque of 0.5–0.8 N·m. The removable terminal for auxiliary and control circuits is not provided (No), so the unit is wired directly in the panel. Zero clearance required on all sides (upwards, forwards, backwards, downwards, at the side all 0 mm), meaning it can be mounted flush against other components without derating.
