The 3UG5462-1AA40: The -63 to +63 A measurable current range covers bidirectional DC loads — motor drives, battery banks, or DC bus monitoring — where current can flow in either direction. The 0 to 800 V adjustable voltage range matches common DC link voltages in industrial drives and solar arrays. The 100 ms response time is fast enough to catch short-duration faults without nuisance tripping on inrush. The auxiliary contact is rated 0.5 A at 125 V AC resistive load up to 40 °C, suitable for signaling to a PLC input or contactor coil. At 24 V DC the contact carries 1 A. The relay consumes a maximum of 3 W, which is low enough to avoid thermal concerns in a crowded DIN-rail cabinet. Galvanic isolation between input and output means the monitoring circuit is electrically separate from the PROFINET communication and auxiliary contacts — important for avoiding ground loops in mixed AC/DC panels.
The front face is IP20, terminals are IP00 — standard for inside a control cabinet. Clearance distances: 50 mm above and below, 3 mm at the sides, 0 mm forward and backward. This is tight for side-by-side DIN-rail mounting but allows stacking with minimal gap.
EMC compliance is per IEC 60947-1 and IEC 61000-6-2 / IEC 61000-6-4, covering industrial immunity and emission limits. The PROFINET IO implementation conforms to Conformance Class A, ensuring interoperability with standard PROFINET controllers.
