What the 3UG5642-1CW30 monitors and where it fits
The Siemens 3UG5642-1CW30 monitors current, active current, voltage, power factor (cos-phi), and real power up to 690 V AC/DC and 10 A. Control supply is 24–240 V AC/DC (50/60 Hz). The two changeover contacts give you independent alarm or trip outputs, which fits a standard motor control center (MCC) scheme: one contact for an upstream breaker trip, the other for a PLC alarm. On-delay and trip-delay are both adjustable from 0.1 to 999.9 seconds, so you can ride through inrush or transient events without nuisance trips.
Integration notes — panel space and wiring
Packaged dimensions are 127 x 111 x 38 mm — that is a standard 4-module wide DIN-rail footprint. Screw terminals accept up to 2.5 mm² stranded or solid wire; strip length around 8 mm avoids stray strands under the clamp. The 38 mm depth leaves room for wiring ducts behind the relay in a 200 mm deep enclosure. Control supply is galvanically isolated from measuring inputs, allowing separate 24 VDC power while monitoring a motor circuit.
