What this relay does
The Siemens 3UG5842-1AA40 is a digital monitoring relay that tracks current, active current, voltage, power factor, and power on a single device. It handles supply voltages up to 690 V AC/DC and can switch loads up to 10 A through its changeover contact. The 24 V DC supply powers the unit, and the onboard IO-Link interface lets you pull real-time readings into a PLC without extra analog cards.
Setup and timing
Both the ON delay and tripping delay are adjustable from 0.1 to 999.9 seconds — handy when you need to ignore inrush spikes or coordinate with downstream contactors. The screw terminals are standard for panel wiring; strip length and torque follow the usual 2.5 mm² spring-cage practice.
