What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1010-2ED36-0CC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current in a 3-pole configuration, built for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release — the thermal element handles overloads, the magnetic element handles short circuits — and includes an undervoltage release (UVR) for coordinated trip on loss of control voltage. Breaking capacity is 52.5 kA at 240 V, 32 kA at 415 V, 13.6 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V — enough for most industrial service-entrance and feeder applications where fault current runs high.
Ratings and what they mean for fit
The 100 A rating holds steady from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient; it derates to 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C. If your panel runs hot, the continuous current you can actually carry is the derated figure, not the nameplate 100 A. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V. IP40 on the front means it's protected against tools and small wires entering the enclosure face — standard for indoor panel mounting, not for washdown or outdoor exposure.
Panel fit and integration
Dimensions are 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth — a standard MCCB footprint that drops into most SENTRON or third-party distribution blocks without re-drilling the gland plate. Comes with 2 auxiliary switches HQ (high-qualified) for status feedback to a PLC or indication lamp. The integrated auxiliary trip is order code 3VA9608-0BB24.
