What this MCCB carries
The Siemens 3VA1010-2ED36-0JA0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release and an integrated shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release. Breaking capacity hits 52.5 kA at 240 V, tapering to 32 kA at 415 V, 13.6 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 500 V and 690 V — enough for most industrial panel fault-current levels up to the 240 V secondary side of a distribution transformer. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the breaker is designed for line protection — no communication function, no ground-fault monitoring, and no undervoltage release on this variant.
Thermal derating and panel fit
At 40 °C, 45 °C, and 50 °C the breaker holds a full 100 A; derating begins at 55 °C (98 A), dropping to 91 A at 70 °C. That 70 °C operating maximum matches the upper end of the ambient range, so the breaker can sit in a warm enclosure without forced cooling as long as load current stays under the derated curve. Dimensions are 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm tall — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits most Siemens SENTRON panelboards and third-party enclosures without re-drilling. Maximum power loss is 25 W; account for that heat in the enclosure thermal budget if the breaker is fully loaded in a sealed cabinet.
