What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-2ED42-0BC0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current (Iu) with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release — the 210 frame size means the thermal element is fixed at 100 A, no external adjustment. It is a line-protection version, not a motor-protection or ground-fault variant, so it is sized for feeder and distribution circuits where the load is resistive or general-purpose, not for individual motor starting duty. The interrupting ratings climb to 52.5 kA at 240 V AC and 32 kA at 415 V AC, so it handles high-fault-capacity panels in industrial switchboards or building mains.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
The breaker holds its full 100 A rating up to 50 °C ambient — no derating needed in a typical ventilated panel. Above that, it steps down: 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C. If the enclosure runs hot (say, next to a drive or transformer), factor the 55 °C column into your load schedule. The operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C, storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
Auxiliary contacts and undervoltage release
Factory-fitted with 2 auxiliary switches (HQ type — high-qualified, meaning higher reliability for signal circuits) and an undervoltage release (UVR). The UVR trips the breaker when control voltage drops below a threshold, common in emergency-stop chains or undervoltage protection schemes. No communication module, no phase-failure detection, no ground-fault monitoring — this is a plain-vanilla line-protection MCCB with the aux contacts and UVR already inside. The integrated auxiliary trip order code is 3VA9608-0BB11 if you need a spare or replacement coil.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions: 130 mm high, 101.6 mm wide, 70 mm deep. The 101.6 mm width is a standard 4-pole MCCB footprint — it occupies four 25.4 mm (1-inch) module spaces on a DIN rail or panel-mount base. Front protection is IP40, so it is suitable for enclosed switchboards but not washdown areas. No N-conductor protection (the 4th pole is a switched neutral, not a protected pole).
