100 A, 4-pole SENTRON MCCB with TM210 release and shunt trip
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-2ED42-0JC0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current at up to 50 °C ambient, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release and an integrated shunt trip (STL) for remote tripping. The 52.5 kA interrupting rating at 240 V gives it headroom for high-fault panelboards; at 415 V it still breaks 32 kA, and at 690 V it clears 7.5 kA — useful for mixed-voltage distribution where a single breaker frame covers multiple secondary feeds.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
The breaker holds its full 100 A rating up to 50 °C. Above that it derates linearly: 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs hot — say inside a non-ventilated enclosure near other heat sources — the 70 °C figure (90 A) is the realistic continuous limit. Operating ambient range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
Auxiliary and trip configuration
This variant ships with two high-quality auxiliary switches (2 auxiliary switches HQ) for status feedback to a PLC or indication lamp. The shunt trip (STL) allows a remote pushbutton, safety relay, or emergency-stop circuit to open the breaker electrically. The TM210 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic type — no interchangeable trip units, no ground-fault module, no phase-failure detection. The integrated auxiliary trip accessory is order code 3VA9688-0BL32. No undervoltage release, no communication module, no N-conductor protection on this build.
Footprint and panel fit
The breaker measures 70 mm deep, 101.6 mm wide, and 130 mm tall. It mounts on a DIN rail or directly to a backplate via the 3VA mounting base. The 4-pole width (101.6 mm) is standard for a 100 A frame — verify busbar or lug spacing if replacing an older 3-pole unit. The IP40 front protection means it is suitable for enclosed panel mounting; no washdown or outdoor rating on the front face.
