The Siemens 3VA1010-2ED42-0KC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current at 40 °C through 50 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. The interrupting ratings tell the real story: 52.5 kA at 240 V, 32 kA at 415 V, 13.6 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V — so it handles high-fault-capacity service entrances and downstream sub-distribution without cascading upstream. The shunt trip is wired separately to a control voltage — useful for remote emergency-off or supervisory tripping. No trip indicator on the front means you rely on the auxiliary contacts or a separate indication relay to know the breaker state after a trip. Panel integration: the 101.6 mm width (4-inch standard) and 130 mm height fit Siemens 3VA fixed-pattern mounting plates and common DIN-rail adapters. The 70 mm depth leaves room for rear-connected busbars or cable ladders.
Thermal derating — the number that governs real use
Above that, it derates: 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs at 60 °C — common in a packed enclosure near a furnace or drive cabinet — the breaker is effectively a 94 A device.
