Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-3ED32-0DC0 — 100 A MCCB with undervoltage release
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-3ED32-0DC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying 100 A continuously at 40 °C ambient without derating. Its interrupting capacity reaches 75.6 kA at 240 V and 52.5 kA at 415 V, so it handles high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries where the available short-circuit current is substantial. The breaker includes an undervoltage release (UVR) and two auxiliary switches HQ, which means a downstream PLC or safety relay can monitor the breaker state and trip on loss of control voltage — a typical requirement for emergency-stop chains or machine safety circuits.
Thermal derating and panel integration
The breaker holds its full 100 A rating through 50 °C; above that it derates linearly to 91 A at 70 °C. That matters when the MCCB is stacked in a multi-breaker enclosure or mounted near heat-generating drives — the panel designer can stay at 100 A up to 50 °C ambient, then apply the published derating curve. Physical footprint is 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, and 70 mm deep, which fits standard SENTRON mounting patterns and busbar systems. The 3-pole form factor occupies three modular 25.4 mm slots on a DIN rail or panel-mount base.
