What this MCCB does and what the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens 3VA1010-3ED32-0JC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) sized for 100 A continuous duty in a 3-pole line-protection configuration. That 100 A holds flat from 40 °C up to 50 °C — no derating needed in a warm enclosure — then steps down to 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C, so you can plan the thermal budget around the actual panel ambient rather than a worst-case number. Breaking capacity is the headline selector here: 75.6 kA at 240 V AC, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. That 75.6 kA at 240 V covers high-fault service-entrance applications on 240 V delta or split-phase systems; the 52.5 kA at 415 V handles most European industrial distribution boards. The 690 V figure (7.5 kA) is lower, so if you're feeding a 690 V motor drive panel, verify the available fault current stays under that threshold. The overcurrent release is a TM210 thermal-magnetic type — fixed thermal pickup, magnetic short-circuit trip. No electronic adjustment, no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring. That keeps the part simple and reliable for standard line protection where you don't need remote status or adjustable curves. It ships with a shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release and 2 HQ auxiliary switches for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator.
Mounting and panel fit
This MCCB measures 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, and 70 mm deep — a standard 3-pole SENTRON 3VA footprint. It mounts on a DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate. The IP40 front protection means it's fine inside a closed panel; keep it out of direct washdown zones. The auxiliary trip accessory is order code 3VA9688-0BL32, ordered separately if you need the integrated shunt-trip function.
