SENTRON 3VA1010-3ED36-0DA0 — 100 A MCCB with TM210 release and undervoltage trip
The Siemens 3VA1010-3ED36-0DA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current at 40 °C, configured as a 3-pole line-protection device with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release. It carries a rated insulation voltage of 800 V and delivers interrupting capacity of 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V — figures that govern selectivity coordination downstream. An undervoltage release (UVR) is factory-fitted, so the breaker trips automatically when supply voltage drops below the release threshold — a standard requirement for safety circuits that must de-energize on loss of control power. The UVR design is the 3VA9608-0BB25 auxiliary trip unit. Front protection is IP40, suitable for enclosed panel mounting where tools or fingers are the main intrusion risk. The 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width fit standard SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts, and the 130 mm height leaves clearance for busbar connections above and below.
Thermal derating and operating range
The 100 A rating holds at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C. Above that, derating applies linearly: 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C. For a panel running hot — near a drive cabinet or in a non-climate-controlled enclosure — the 70 °C figure is the one to size against. Operating ambient range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range extends from -40 °C to 80 °C. The storage minimum matters for winter site staging before installation.
Panel fit and integration notes
This MCCB mounts on a standard DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate. The 3-pole form factor with no auxiliary contact version fitted means the side slots are free for add-on modules (shunt trip, auxiliary switch) if needed later. The TM210 release is fixed — no interchangeable trip unit — so the breaker is ordered at the exact amp rating required. No communication function or phase-failure detection is built in; this is a straight line-protection device with undervoltage release only. For applications requiring remote monitoring or phase-loss protection, an external relay or a different 3VA variant with those features would be needed.
