SENTRON 3VA1010-3ED42-0AH0 — 100 A MCCB with TM210 release
The Siemens 3VA1010-3ED42-0AH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels. Rated 100 A at 40 °C, it carries a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release and is built for 4-pole (3-phase + neutral) applications. Its breaking capacity scales with system voltage: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 7.5 kA at 500 V or 690 V — giving the panel designer clear selectivity headroom up to 415 V, with a sharp drop above 440 V that matters for 480/500 V installations. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so the breaker is suitable for 690 V line-to-line systems where the insulation envelope must exceed the operating voltage.
Thermal derating and continuous current
The breaker holds its full 100 A rating from 40 °C through 50 °C. Above that, it derates linearly: 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. For a panel with ambient temperatures near 60 °C, the effective continuous current is 96 A — a 4 % reduction that must be factored into the load schedule.
Auxiliary and alarm contacts
Factory-fitted with two auxiliary switches plus one trip alarm switch (HQ type). This covers remote status feedback and trip indication without adding a separate accessory module — useful for PLC-based monitoring where the trip alarm signals a fault condition.
