What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1010-4ED32-0CA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current (Iu) across a 3-pole configuration, designed for line protection in distribution panels and motor branch circuits. The TM210 thermal-magnetic release handles overload and short-circuit protection without electronic adjustment — a fixed-trip design suited for standard feeder applications where coordination studies are already set.
Breaking capacity and thermal derating
This MCCB delivers 121 kA at 240 V AC, 75.6 kA at 415 V AC, 52.5 kA at 440 V AC, and 11.9 kA at 690 V AC — covering most low-voltage industrial service entrances and sub-distribution boards. The rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it can be applied in 690 V systems with adequate clearance. Thermal derating is minimal up to 50 °C (full 100 A), then drops to 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs hot — say, next to a drive cabinet — factor the 70 °C ceiling into your load schedule.
Integration and mounting
Dimensions are 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, and 70 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA footprint that fits existing panel cutouts and DIN-rail adapters. Front protection is IP40, so it's suitable for enclosed distribution boards where dust ingress is controlled. The design includes an undervoltage release (UVR) as the auxiliary release type; no auxiliary contact block is fitted as standard.
Mechanical endurance and approvals context
Rated for 15,000 mechanical operations — typical for a fixed-trip MCCB in a main feeder role where switching cycles are infrequent. The integrated auxiliary trip order code is 3VA9608-0BB24, relevant if you need to order the matching shunt trip or UVR accessory separately.
