MCCB for line protection — 100 A frame, high interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-4ED32-0CH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a continuous current rating of 100 A at 40 °C, derating to 91 A at 70 °C, and delivers a breaking capacity of 121 kA at 240 V AC — enough to handle high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the unit includes an undervoltage release (UVR) plus a factory-fitted auxiliary switch block: 2 auxiliary switches + 1 trip alarm switch HQ. That means the breaker can signal its status back to a PLC or safety relay without a separate interface module.
Breaking capacity across voltages
The interrupting rating varies with system voltage: 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. For a 480 V panel (common in North America), the 52.5 kA at 440 V is the closest published figure — expect a similar or slightly lower value at 480 V, so verify coordination with the upstream fault current.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 3-pole frame mounts on a DIN rail or direct-panel screw pattern typical of SENTRON MCCBs.
