MCCB for line protection — 100 A frame with high interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1010-4ED32-0DH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection, rated 100 A continuous at 40 °C ambient — no derating needed up to 50 °C where it still holds 100 A, then a gentle taper to 91 A at 70 °C. Interrupting capacity is the headline: 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That 121 kA at 240 V puts it comfortably above most utility transformer fault levels in North American panelboards — you get full selectivity without cascading upstream breakers. The 70 mm depth and 76.2 mm width fit standard SENTRON 3VA mounting footprints, so it swaps into existing panel layouts without re-drilling the backplate or moving DIN-rail brackets. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, giving headroom for 480/277 V and 600 V systems.
Built-in undervoltage release and auxiliary switch complement
Factory-fitted with an undervoltage release (UVR) and a 2-auxiliary-switch plus 1-trip-alarm-switch HQ block — that means you get immediate status feedback (open/closed/tripped) without adding external relays or stacking add-on modules. The UVR drops the breaker when control voltage falls below threshold, standard for safety circuits that need to guarantee a power-off state on loss of control power. A trip indicator is present, so at-a-glance inspection confirms whether the breaker opened on overload/short or was manually switched off. No communication function on this variant — it's a pure power distribution device, no Modbus or PROFIBUS bridge inside.
